What is a vacation without a visit to a quilt shop? Now you can take a trip on the web and surf right in or visit us in person. Named one of American Patchwork & Quilting's "10 Best Shops" in their Fall 2004 Quilt Sampler issue, Once Upon A Quilt is located in sunny Ft. Lauderdale Florida. We are easy to find, in fact, we are less than 4 miles from the Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale International Airport. Whether you are coming via I-95, I-595 or Florida's Turnpike, you are within minutes of our door… just .50 miles east of the Florida Turnpike and .75 miles west of I-95 on the south side of Griffin Road.

We opened in December of 1998 with just 500 bolts and our growth has been colossal since then. In October of 2008 we added knitting and now have a full knit room full of gorgeous yarn and everything to go with it. The shop completed an expansion in January 2010 so we could better serve our customers. We now have 2500+ bolts of the finest 100% cotton fabric for quilters and we are a Bernina Authorized Dealer, in fact we were awarded District A Dealer of the Year in 2008. Our new space created a larger classroom, space for longarm quilting services on premise, full time machine service and more floor space. In addition to fabric and Bernina sewing machines, we carry an extensive array of notions, books and patterns. We stock a large assortment of embellishments for every project including crazy quilting. With bag making at a peak we have all the patterns you will ever need. You'll find a section of our shop dedicated to wool and punch needle embroidery.We always have many beautiful quilt kits and a wonderful and varied selection of quilt related gifts. If you are new to the area or planning an extended visit please be sure to look at our class schedule as there is always something exciting happening here, Block of the Month, Jo Morton, Little Women's Club, Virtual Bernina Club, Virtual Software Sampler, Virtual All About ME and Crazy Quilt Club just to name a few, but wait… there's more!
